My passion is helping every woman, no matter her past or current circumstances, see how beautiful they truly are. Life knocks us down constantly, but if we as women can find the beauty, grace, and strength that is naturally within ourselves, we are unstoppable.
My name is Moriah, but everyone calls me Moh. I have been a professional in the beauty industry for over 9 years, but my passion for this came to me way before that.
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon amongst some of the most artistic people in the Northwest.
However, at that time, I was just a kid who loved cutting her Barbies hair and giving them makeovers with Sharpie’s. In 2006, I moved across the river to Vancouver, Washington to start my high school career, but who would have thought the old days making my barbies “beautiful”, would turn into the way I expressed myself in my early teen years and onward. I was obsessed with all things hair and makeup, but back then we didn’t have social media in the capacity we do now, so all my inspiration came from Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan magazines. School never came easy to me. I struggled from 1st grade all the way up to 12th. Always barely passing my classes with C’s, even with endless studying hours and tutoring sessions. After high school, I tried to be like everyone else and go to college, but since the average way of learning was so difficult for me, I decided to be more involved with the “social” aspect of schooland not the educational part. This resulted in multiple failed courses and eventually suspension, which I didn’t return from.
After working endless hours in retail, I came to a conclusion that I needed to find a career and not just a job. I started to look at myself and figure out what I was “good at” and realized I do what I am good at everyday when I wake up. So, in late 2010, I enrolled in beauty school and began my journey. Almost towards the end of my beauty school career in 2012, I became pregnant with my beautiful daughter. It was quite a surprise to everyone, especially me. Once I received my certification from beauty school, I decided to skip the salon and go straight to Corporate America, since I needed to provide for my new small family. After 4 1/2 years of working behind a desk, becoming a single mother, and having to move back home, I decided I was going to start taking control of my life and not letting life control me. I quit my job behind the desk and entered into the industry that I always loved and found my peace in.
